Our own little bouncing bundle of joy, Edelweiss, is over a year old. Here at Above the Treeline, we're constantly pulling out the wallet-sized screenshots and boring people with stories about the latest amazing and adorable things Edelweiss can do. But don't take our word for it - check out the December 7 Publishers Weekly article "Edelweiss Continues to Blossom" or the Publishing Perspectives November piece on why B2B is real revolution in e-books: "Catalogs, Galleys...Is Something Lost if Publishers Go all 'E' for B2B?"
Next week (the week of December 10), we'll be introducing a set of improvements to Edelweiss to make it more intuitive and easy to navigate. If you missed it in the last email, check here for a sneak preview of what's in store. We're excited about the changes and the user testing we've done so far has confirmed our sense that this is the right direction for Edelweiss and its users.
Cheers,
Mark

Tip of the Week
|
Ok - so this isn't so much a tip as it is a reminder. I recently had someone (who shall remain nameless - you know who you are) send me an email about her experience using Edelweiss to order Random House Spring 2010 and the hours of work it saved her. It ended: "Doing it in Edelweiss was so easy I honestly thought I might cry. THANK YOU. (Please get HarperCollins to start using it.)" [emphasis mine].
HarperCollins does use Edelweiss. This comes up fairly frequently, and not just with HarperCollins. While we're working every day to expand the publisher base, be sure you are aware of which pubs are already on board. Here's the complete list:
- Baker Publishing Group
- Cambridge University Press
- Columbia University Press
- Diamond Book Distributors
- Disney Press
- Fordham University Press
- Georgetown University Press
- Hachette Book Group
- HarperCollins Publishers
- Hay House Publishers
- Ingram Publisher Services
- Microsoft Press
- New York University Press
- Penguin Group
- Quayside Publishing Group
- Random House Children's
- Random House Adult
- Thomas Nelson
- Tyndale House Publishers
- W.W. Norton & Company
- Workman Publishing
