Edelweiss Weekly Update – Monday, August 31st, 2009

We offer free Webex-based demo’s twice per week for Retailers and other Catalog Readers. “Reply” to me if you want more info on how to sign up. Publisher reps: we can also work with you to schedule training. Just let us know.
Filters are a great way to see just those titles that meet the conditions that you specify (Format, Pubdate, BISAC Category, among many other options.) However, remember that filters stay in place until you clear them. While that can be very helpful, it can also cause confusion when you forget about a filter you set and don’t see all of the titles that you expect to. There’s a filter status on every relevant screen to remind you when you have a filter set. See the circled area in the image directly below for an example.

HAY HOUSE JOINS EDELWEISS
After the frenzy of activity last week where we announced 17 new published catalogs in Edelweiss, there aren’t any new catalogs to report for the past week. We are pleased to announce, however, that Hay House will be coming on board! We’re delighted to have them as part of Edelweiss.
ABA MEMBER SURVEY
The American Bookseller Association and Above the Treeline want to hear from ABA members regarding their views on electronic catalogs generally and Edelweiss in particular. We’ve partnered on a survey that has gone out to all ABA members. If you are an ABA member, please be sure to complete this survey to ensure that your perspectives are included. You should have already received an email with a link to the survey, but here it is again for your convenience. As a small thank you, eligible respondents (ABA Members who provide their email so we can contact them) will be entered into a random drawing to receive a gourmet basket of goodies from Zingerman’s deli of Ann Arbor, MI.
