Edelweiss Weekly Update – Monday, September 21st, 2009

We’re busy traveling to the regional trade shows, meeting with publishers, and designing changes to Edelweiss to make it better than ever.  Hope everyone had a great summer!

TIP OF THE WEEK

The quickest and easiest way to find a catalog in Edelweiss is to use the publisher folders that reside in the “Available Catalogs” area of Edelweiss.  Click on the small “+” sign directly to the left of the “Available Catalogs” icon to reveal the list of publishers’ folders containing available catalogs within Edelweiss.  Do the same thing on a specific publisher folder to reveal its contents and select a catalog.

FEATURES & FIXES

We’re now displaying “Expected Ship Date” if the publisher supplies this information in their data feed

NEW CATALOGS

A few new catalogs to announce this week, including Hay House’s first Edelweiss catalog, the Winter 2010 lists from Ingram Publisher Services, and a Microsoft Press catalog dedicated to their “Step by Step” series:

AND THE WINNER IS…

Thanks to all ABA members who participated in the survey on electronic catalogs.  The ABA task force reviewed the results last week and is working to incorporate the findings from the survey into its ongoing plans for electronic catalogs and Edelweiss.  The randomly selected winner of the Zingerman’s gourmet gift basket is Beth Wagner of Phoenix Books in Essex Junction, Vermont.  Congrats, Beth!  We hope you enjoy it!

As always, email me or edelweiss@abovethetreeline.com if you have any problems, questions, or suggestions.
