Greetings!
This week we have Disney's Fall 2010 catalog and March's Internet buzz titles.  Also, a reminder that you can allow your publisher reps to view and print your Edelweiss orders.

Finally, check out our summary of cool new Edelweiss features coming over the next couple of months.  We're excited and hope you will be, too!

Cheers,

Mark
Tip of the Week: Sharing an Order with Your Rep
Retailers & Readers: remember - by default orders you create within Edelweiss are private to your organization.  However, you can easily share your orders with your sales rep or publisher rep.  Simply check the box in the "Edit Order" area as shown below.  Note that this does not place the order, but allows your publisher rep to view, print, or export your order.

Feature Shock: What's Coming Soon to Edelweiss
blossomWe're excited about a few of the new features we've got in the works for Edelweiss this Spring and thought we'd share some information on what you can expect to see over the next few weeks and months.  Stay tuned for more information on these new features:
  • Subject/Format Mapping: Retailers will appreciate the ability to map to POS departments using a combination of bisac subject category and bisac format code.  This has come up repeatedly, primarily connected to Children's categories.  We listened!
  • Google Map Authors and Titles: A different kind of "mapping" entirely!  Soon we'll introduce the ability to search Edelweiss based on geographic criteria in conjunction with the currently available filter criteria.  Set an address and a radius to search and results will be mapped on Google maps based on available author bio info (residence, birthplace, universities attended or affiliated) and title setting or relevance.
  • Galley Requests (with digital galleys): Edelweiss will soon provide the ability for publishers to offer galleys to readers and retailers using a "request" feature.  Also, as we announced in January, we're partnering with NetGalley to allow publishers to offer digital galleys as well.
  • Custom Market Views: As the number of users and publishers have grown, we've seen the need to provide different views of the system.  Soon retailers and other catalog readers will be able to choose between a number of different market views such as General Trade, Christian Trade, Academic, and others.  Each view will provide a custom set of publishers, catalogs, and titles specifically for that market.
