| Greetings! |
A bunch of new catalogs this week: Hyperion Fall 2010, Thomas Nelson Fall 2010, a Spanish language Hay House catalog, a couple of niche catalogs from Fordham, Random House mass market for September, and IPS "O'Reilly and Partners" tech catalog for May releases. See the list with links below.
Also, we rolled out a new and improved version of the List View earlier this morning. Not only are there some nice cosmetic and usability enhancements, but the performance (speed of loading, page changes, etc) should be better. See summary directly below for more info.
Finally, we're really excited to be working with Reed Exhibitions and the BookExpo America team to provide Books@BEA, the official on-line product catalog for titles being featured at BookExpo America 2010. Check out the press release, the great article on Edelweiss by Michael Cairns published this morning at at his terrific blog Personanondata, and feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions about the project. Participation will be free for all BookExpo exhibitors.
Cheers,
Mark

New, Improved List View Rolled Out Tuesday
|
|
Earlier today (Tuesday, March 9th), we implemented a new and improved List View. Nearly all the functionality is exactly the same as before (exceptions noted below), but with enhanced performance and cosmetics. The new version of the List View includes:
-
A cleaner look, with a white background instead of the previous gray.
-
Markup areas in shaded boxes directly below the bibliographic data. The benefits to this are that the boxes can expand downwards comfortably, so people can easily see all notes and tags.
-
Faster processing when saving multiple order quantities on long pages.
-
A new visual cue for saving: When you type a number in either a box for a suggested order for an account, or as a buyer entering an order number, the box will light up in orange when you move to the next title or box. This is just a reminder that this quantity has not yet been saved. As always, you can click SAVE or use the shortcut CTRL-S to save quantities on the whole page at any time. The boxes will then revert to blue.
-
Enhanced system performance when entering and navigating catalogs.
-
The detail page is now reached by clicking on the title itself, and the separate 'detail page' hyperlink has been removed. The popup box that used to come up when you clicked on the title is still accessible - just click on the author name instead.
