Edelweiss360 for Booksellers Privacy Policy

Additional Data Privacy Addendum for Edelweiss360

(Edelweiss360, sometimes referred to as Indie360, is an add-on module to Edelweiss Analytics that requires sending certain customer transaction data, names, phone numbers, and email addresses to Above the Treeline for the purpose of providing custom title recommendations to customers via email.)

 

Bookseller users of Edelweiss360 represent and warrant to Above the Treeline that they have the authority to deliver customer-identifiable information to Above the Treeline for use in connection with Edelweiss360.  Above the Treeline relies upon that representation and warranty. Nothing in this policy or otherwise supersedes the agreement by and between Above the Treeline and the Bookseller. Above the Treeline is committed to protecting its information and data. As an Edelweiss360 customer, we are committed to protecting your customer data. Above the Treeline acknowledges that there may be prior agreements executed between the store and their customers and that there may be future agreements executed that may contain confidentiality and security provisions. Above the Treeline is committed to compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations relating or pertaining to the use, disclosure, storage, handling, and transmission of data.

 

Customer-identifiable data is not sold to third parties for their business purposes.  We may contract with third party vendors to assist us in using Customer-identifiable data to provide marketing and Edelweiss360 services. No such vendor shall be authorized to use Customer-identifiable data for its own business purposes. We shall only use the store’s customer data as permitted by this agreement, and shall not, directly or indirectly, disclose, copy, distribute, republish or allow any Third-party to have access to any store customer data unless otherwise approved by store in writing or required by law.

 

What Data You Do NOT Provide:

 

Customer financial data. Treeline does NOT use or store customer credit card numbers or billing information.

 

Customer account data. Treeline does NOT collect customer passwords to store websites or other store programs.

What Data You Provide:

 

Customer data. You provide us with information in connection with the creation and management of customer accounts, such as a name, phone number, and email address, as well as loyalty program membership and activity. We use this information for Edelweiss360 functionality and to enable personalized communications and marketing.

 

Transaction data. You may provide us with customer data about purchases or transactions, which data may include personally identifiable information connected with specific purchases or transactions. We, via the Edelweiss360 tool and with the assistance of third-party vendors, use these data to provide relevant, personalized recommendations to customers.

 

Other data. You may choose to provide us with information when you fill in a form, contact our customer support, respond to surveys, or use other features of Edelweiss.

 

What Data We Collect:

 

Customer Activity. Treeline will collect data on customer open rates, click rates, purchases, and pre-orders.

 

Store Activity in Edelweiss. Treeline will collect Edelweiss360 and Edelweiss Analytics usage data, including usage metrics, customer emails or texts sent through the platform, and general on-platform activity. Please see our general Edelweiss Terms of Service for more information on general user data privacy.

 

Duty to Protect Store Customer Data:

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) collected by Edelweiss is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties or employees of Edelweiss except for business use as indicated above and in the Edelweiss Privacy Policy. We deploy administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to provide security that meets or exceeds applicable state and federal laws.

 

We acknowledge that store customer data may include personal information covered by various state personal information statutes. Treeline shall ensure that the storage, handling and transmission of the customer data complies with the existing and future federal and state laws of all personally-identifiable data.

 

Handling Requests to Correct or Delete Customer PII Data:

At any time and upon a bookseller’s written request, Treeline shall promptly correct, delete, or destroy all originals and copies of bookseller Data, whether in printed or electronic form, including any and all backups and archived data.

 

At any time and upon individual’s written request, Treeline shall promptly correct, delete, or destroy such individual’s personally identifiable information in Treeline’s possession, whether in printed or electronic form, including any and all backups and archived data.

 

Stores may request to have customer PII deleted by contacting support@abovethetreeline.com.

 

Notification of Suspected or Actual Breach:

If Treeline believes that data protected by law has been subject to unauthorized access, we shall provide written notice to Edelweiss360 users within one business day by sending e-mail to the relevant billing contact(s).

 

Partners

Edelweiss has entered into and will continue to enter into contracts with vendors to improve the service we provide to our users. Such vendors may have access to certain Personally Identifiable Information necessary to provide these services. Prior to providing vendors access to any Personally Identifiable Information, we will obtain assurances that they will safeguard it in accordance with this policy. In the event we discover than a vendor is using Personally Identifiable Information in a way that conflicts with this policy, we will take reasonable steps to stop this immediately.

 

We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information to comply with law. We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our users.

 

Compliance and Updates to this Policy

 

Edelweiss commits to resolve complaints about our data collection or use of your personal information.  If Edelweiss merges with or is acquired by another company, the protections in this privacy policy may be subject to change. We will notify our users of any notable updates or changes to this policy.
